BREAKING THE SPIRIT OF TIMIDITY

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment. (1st Timothy 1:7)

Timidity is fear of the unknown or unfamiliar or fear of making decisions and changes. The difference between champions and cowards is that cowards only wait for good opportunities and the right time to do things, to take decisions and move forward. They wait until they are comfortable enough in some situation before taking action. But champions don’t wait, they create good opportunities themselves and make things happen.

With the spirit of fear, you cannot accomplish anything, but regret. Fear is very destructive. A lot of people lose opportunities and jobs because of timidity. There are people who are stuck where they are today because they are just scared of taking just one bold step forward from where they are. Fear always makes you think that it’s not the right time, maybe its wasn’t meant for me, what if I start and fail along the way?

The bible says that God did not that king of spirit, but the spirit
[1] of power to make things happen, to do what God expects us to do. He gave us power to overcome the power of darkness, temptations, challenges and sicknesses. The power that God gave you is not natural, but supernatural. There are times when discouragement, procrastination and fear attacks, but the power of God working in you is more than enough to overcome all.
[2] of love for to love one another, you cannot love God and hate his people. It is love that binds us together. The spirit of love which God gave us doesn’t make us hate other fellow children of God. You may not have what they have, there is still no reason to hate them. Don’t lose yourself trying to be someone else. You are running your own God-given race.
[3] of sound, mind for us to take good decisions and right choices. God also gave the spirit which leads us and gives us wisdom to know how and when to react to things and situations.

Breaking the spirit of timidity takes ones who knows and understands the power working in them. The bible says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God, on the contrary, fear comes by hearing lies from the devil. One has to know very well what God says about them not what the devil says. Life needs someone who will stand, forget about what people say and look upon the Lord. Leave your fears behind and go for what you believe in. Never let fear rob you of your destiny. God destined you for greatness. You are going somewhere. Fear can create images even where there is nothing. If you let it haunt you ,you will only see obstacles instead of opportunities.

If you are going to break the spirit of fear, you need the word of God inside you. Speak the word of God and see situations change. You need to be a prayerful somebody for you to conquer your fears. Can I challenge you today to give all your fears to God. That very same thing which you are afraid of, give it to your creator.
