JOHN 5:1-9

Sometime later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time.

In light of the above scriptures, this man had been in that condition for 38 years. It’s quite obvious that he has seen a lot of people getting healing right in front of his eyes, but somehow he had been stuck there for 38 years desperately in need of healing. When Jesus got there he simply asked the man what He could do for him and He already knew that the man had been there for a long time. May I take time to encourage someone who is going through some hard times. God knows your situation very well, He knows what you need and what you are praying for. It doesn’t matter how long you have been in the situation; God is able to end your problems just in seconds. He doesn’t care who succeeded before you, He doesn’t care who made it before you. Yes, you may have seen people succeed in life, you have seen them receiving their miracles, but I want to guarantee you that God is coming to take you out that your situation. The lame man was desperately waiting for the angel of God to come to the pool, but he received more than what he expected when he saw Jesus himself coming to help him. Don’t give up yet, your help is coming.
